Facebook marketing – what NOT to do!

Facebook (FB) marketing is definitely some of the easiest marketing you can do, but there is one aspect you should avoid. Boost Post is one of the easiest, quickest ways to advertise with Facebook and they make it so convenient. With that being said it is also one of the easiest ways to waste money marketing through FB. Obviously FB wants you to spend, spend, spend.

What is Boost Post

Essentially Boost Post is method of taking an existing FB Post and showing to more people outside of your subscribers/followers. This is not the best marketing because it offers you no targeting of audience or geographic region. You give FB money and they show your post to more people, whomever they can find.

Redeeming Feature

The one good thing about Boost Post is Brand Awareness. If simple Brand Awareness is your goal and you really don’t care who sees it, by all means take this ‘easy road’. FB is very good about showing you opportunities to push your post to more people with the click of a button. It couldn’t get easier.

Summary

The bottom line, in most cases, is that you’ll want to target your marketing to people most likely to engage and result in a transaction. Boost Post is NOT the way to accomplish this goal. You need to visit Facebook’s Business Manager to market properly. If you’d rather us handle that for you, let us know.
